On today’s post, we will recommend you five places to visit that are not too far from Kuala Lumpur.
Gopeng
Gopeng is a town known for its beautiful landscapes with limestone cliffs, rivers, caves, and rainforests. Gopeng is just two hours away from Kuala Lumpur by car, however, you can also spend the night in a tent and sleep beneath a starry sky. While you’re there, don’t miss out on one of Gopeng’s main attractions: the historical pre-war buildings located in its old town.
Melaka
Melaka is one of the most popular road trip destinations, and it’s only two hours away from Kuala Lumpur.
The site of the city of Malacca was the centre of the history of the namesake state, and most of the tourist attractions are concentrated in its small city centre. You can walk along Jonker’s Walk, which is lined with a row of shophouses of Peranakan architecture.
Genting
This route is great for a short road trip with family. Just an hour away from Kuala Lumpur is the town of Genting, the perfect place for a short getaway. You can either visit the beautiful outskirts or have fun with your family at Genting SkyWorlds, the Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park, or Ripley’s Adventure.
Bukit Tinggi
Only 40 minutes away from Genting, you’ll find Bukit Tinggi, a hidden gem with many sites of cultural and historical interest as a result of its rich history. There you’ll find really interesting spots such as the Colmar Tropicale French Village as well as a Japanese Village with a beautiful botanic garden.
Sekinchan
Located in the Sabak Bernam district, the town of Sekinchan is another place not to be missed. It will only take you about an hour and fifteen minutes to get there from Kuala Lumpur, and you’ll be able to visit its well-known paddy fields, the Paddy Processing Gallery as well as try the local seafood from the local fishing village.
